Would you like that with whipped cream?

Just look where our lives have taken us. The Choplettes are getting older and growing every day. We do hair, we love others occasionally, we seek careers and we sell pie. Or at least I do. This was to be a summer of rest and relaxation mingled with adventure. Never did I imagine that I would come out on top...or should I say, with a cherry on top. Warmed up? Ala mode? Or, in a box to go? These are the questions I asked and asked until I won. The seven day pie selling contest at the local diner where I work (Shari's) caught me by surprise. Then I realized I wasn't really interested. Well, I won anyway, and I got a thermos. A really cool one with the Shari's logo on it. Stainless steel and green on the outside. I can't wait until Fall classes when the leaves start to turn and I can whip out my thermos full of hot coco right in the middle of class and count how many people begin to drool. And before that, when it's still hot and miserable out I can fill it with ice and when people ask, "What did you accomplish this summer?" I'll say, "That's a good question. Why don't I show you?"

This is a test.

Maybe I need to start blogging this summer so peeps can keep up with me. This is a test to gauge interest in me actually doing a blog. I personally think that no one will read them or comment on my blogs and tell me what I need to hear. Like, "Lily, you are one in a million." Or, "Lily, I wish I were more like you." Or, "Lily, I wish I had one of you in every color!" We all have reasons for having blogs. I want mine to boost my self esteem. Too bad no one will ever see this post. I support that. Go, make friends in the real world while you still can.

Greeting Card Business/"Missing You"

The Choplettes are a special group of girls. We are adventurers and entrepreneurs. We are spunky and wild. We are fun and imaginative. One of our business ideas has been to start a greeting card line with hilarious photos of ourselves on the covers. Imagine Kim without her tooth in wishing someone a Happy Birthday. Imagine Scary Mary on Halloween, or the Oompah Loompahs on St. Patrick's Day. The possibilities are endless (kind of like the discount bin in a craft store). Last night Kaylene and I went on a tandem bicycle ride and I was inspired. The sky was clear and the stars shone bright. The breeze was lovely and our rhythm was right. Kaylene dropped me off at my house and I left her to ride home alone. I stayed outside for a minute to make sure she could "blast off" alone. She could, but it was sad. It was sad because at that moment I realized that a tandem bicycle should never be ridden solo. It goes against nature and it looks pathetic. So here's my point. One of our cards needs to have someone riding down the street alone on a tandem bicycle. The air is clear, the trees are green, but something is missing. Something is unsettling. You open the card and inside it reads, "Missing You." I think that this would be a highly emotional card. What do you girls think? Please feel free to post more Greeting Card ideas, for posterity.
